Since Republicans took complete control of our legislature, our education system has fallen behind. We’re dead last in the nation. It’s no secret why. 

First on their agenda was to wage a war on educators and support staff. They cut teacher benefits and pay.  I was deeply moved by their response: 55 Strong.  

I will reinvest in our educators and support staff, and stop your tax dollars from being spent on for-profit private schools that most West Virginia families can’t afford for their children. 

I’m proudly endorsed by the West Virginia Education Association, and our teachers will be one of my top priorities. It’s unfortunate that there has been a mass exodus of teachers since the republicans and their war on education and teachers.
